Reconnaisance by prdarkfox Reconnaisance by prdarkfox
It's been a little while since I did any BattleTech work.
A lance of light 'Mechs -- a Raven RVN-3L up front -- sticks together before they will eventually split up to seek out the enemy.

Other 'Mechs (front to back): Owens, Hussar, Spider.

All 'Mechs (C) Topps, Inc.

great raven, it seems to be remarkably hard to do that little bugger any justice. Tnough one raven +wolfhound escort, and a pack of catapults on a neaby hill ready to chainfire is a scary fight for sure.

As a support model and not a lone combatant, it's why the Raven can't GET many favors. If people keep misusing it, of course it's going to get unpopular. :(

Indeed, it's proven further by house liao's Men Shen which is really a raven on steroids that really has the exact same problem anyway.

Honestly for it's tonnage there are so many more dangerous missile tossers it's not funny. bushwhackers, whitworths, trebuchets, the lineholder... all more effective for similar if not the same tonnage, and good support for a raven too.

Never actually had the opportunity to pilot a raven... From what I understand, It's an excellent choice for NARCing heavy stuff, then bombarding them with LRMs.
